A special place to be.
Pindá Iate Clube was founded in 1972 from the vision of Rubens Galvão and a group of people who found in Ilhabela a special place to be.
In those early years, many members reached the island in small aircraft, landing at the former airfield opposite the club to spend weekends and holidays by the sea.
Much has changed since then.
But the sea has always been present.
Pindá Iate Clube clubhouseAt first, it was through spearfishing, a sport that gathered great enthusiasts and marked an era of important competitions. Later came offshore fishing, which held a prominent place in club life for many years.
Over time, new boats arrived. So did new generations.
Motorboats and sailboats brought different ways to navigate and experience the sea.
During Commodore Toninho Dell’Erba’s term, a group of members—together with architect and fellow member Roberto Candusso—led one of the most important transformations in the club’s history.
A new chapter
A new clubhouse was born.
The kitchen found a new location. The restaurant moved into a more welcoming space integrated with the landscape. The Nautical Clubhouse was restructured.
Pindá was growing.
As it grew, it became much more than a place to keep boats or set out to sea.
Nautical vocation
Different ways to live the sea.
At the same time, the club’s nautical vocation grew stronger. Sailing gained prominence, especially through ocean-going sailboats that have represented Pindá with distinction in competitions along São Paulo’s northern coast.
Today, we are the result of this entire history.
We are tradition, but also transformation.
A club that spans generations must preserve what made it special while having the courage to evolve.
Today’s Pindá carries the legacy of those who came before us.
But it looks ahead.A club that renews itself, values its heritage and prepares for the generations to come.
